Echinodorus 'Aflame' is a variant of the sword plant known for its deep purple coloration. Here's how to grow Echinodorus 'Aflame' in your aquarium:

**1. Lighting:**
- Provide moderate to high-intensity lighting. Echinodorus 'Aflame' benefits from strong light, which enhances its purple coloration.

**2. Substrate:**
- Plant Echinodorus 'Aflame' in a nutrient-rich substrate. Use a substrate with added nutrients or incorporate root tabs to support healthy growth.

**3. Fertilization:**
- Regularly dose a comprehensive liquid fertilizer to supply essential nutrients. Echinodorus 'Aflame' benefits from consistent nutrient supplementation.

**4. CO2 Injection:**
- While not strictly necessary, providing a source of CO2 can enhance growth and intensify the plant's colors, especially in high-light setups.

**5. Temperature:**
- Maintain a temperature range of 72-82°F (22-28°C). Echinodorus 'Aflame' is adaptable to various temperatures within this range.

**6. Water Parameters:**
- pH: 6.0-7.5
- Hardness: Soft to moderately hard water is suitable. Echinodorus 'Aflame' can adapt to various water parameters but prefers stable conditions.

**7. Planting Depth:**
- Plant the roots of Echinodorus 'Aflame' in the substrate. Ensure the crown (where the roots meet the base of the leaves) is slightly above the substrate.

**8. Pruning:**
- Trim any old or damaged leaves regularly to encourage new growth. Pruning helps maintain a neat appearance and prevents the plant from shading other aquarium inhabitants.

**9. Placement:**
- Echinodorus 'Aflame' is often used as a midground or background plant. Plant it in groups for a visually striking effect, and provide adequate spacing for individual plants to grow.

**10. Water Flow:**
- Provide gentle water circulation. Echinodorus 'Aflame' does not require strong water flow, and a gentle current is usually sufficient.

**11. Tank Mates:**
- Choose tank mates that won't disturb the delicate leaves. Echinodorus 'Aflame' is generally not a target for herbivorous fish.

**12. Algae Control:**
- Maintain good aquarium hygiene to prevent algae growth. Clean the plant's surfaces to ensure optimal light absorption.

**13. Observation:**
- Regularly observe the plant for any signs of nutrient deficiencies, pests, or diseases.
- Monitor its growth and adjust care routines based on the specific conditions of your aquarium.

By following these care guidelines, you can cultivate a vibrant and healthy Echinodorus 'Aflame' in your aquarium, adding a splash of color to your aquascape.

Plants Were Healthy and Beautiful!

The plants were healthy and all but one already had long, healthy roots. I didn't see any snails in any bundles and I've had minimal melting. This is the ONLY place I will buy aquatic plants from at this point.
